Beckham Linton, M.A., CCC-SLP
Social Cognitive Specialist
Relationship and ADHD Coach
Welcome to Heartland Social Learning Center, a private coaching practice focused on social communication, executive functioning, relationships, and parent education. I opened Heartland Social Learning Center to create a place where clients and families feel safe to explore what it means to be 'different, not less', to celebrate neurodiversity, and to develop the skills and confidence to live life to the fullest.
To guide my coaching, I draw on my 3 decades as a speech-language pathologist, where I gained a deep understanding of how social skills, language, and cognition impact our communication, daily functioning, and relationships. Through my therapy work, I also learned the value of focusing and building upon strengths to increase my client's motivation, tenacity, and resilience. Instead of focusing on what is "wrong," my approach to coaching views the client as already whole and fully capable of finding success with the strengths they have (but may not be aware of).
I also believe establishing a personal, trusting relationship is the most important part of my job as a coach. At Heartland Social, coaching is a collaborative, goal-oriented, and strengths-based partnership between myself and my clients. I partner with my clients without judgment to help them expand their thinking beyond what they thought was possible, effectively empowering clients to create forward movement and momentum toward creating a life full of friendship and love.
