Why work with a Speech-Language Pathologist on executive function skills?

Speech-language pathologists have a unique skill set to address executive functioning. Not only do we understand the academic, professional, and social impacts, we have an in-depth knowledge of each area of the brain involved in EF skills. This combination of expertise allows speech-language pathologists to ensure we treat the whole person.

I know what to do, I just don't do it.

Often times we know the recipe for success, but we just cannot seem to put it all together. That is where an accountability coach comes in. Together we will identify what is getting in the way and create checks and balances to ensure you stay on top of your game. Whether that is just a check-in text or a weekly call, together we will stay on course.

What is the coaching process?

Coaching is an ongoing collaborative partnership between a coach and an individual impacted by social communication and/or other executive function challenges.  I will help you identify and highlight your strengths and responds through reflective listening and powerful questioning to what you most want to work on and accomplish; therefore it helps to come prepared with specific questions, challenges and/or situations in your life that will drive the conversation.

What results can I expect from executive function skills coaching?

Together we will discover strengths you may not have known you had, determine your personal goals, and create specific action plans for accomplishing your goals and maximizing your full potential.

You will be taught how to use specific tools and strategies and have many opportunities to practice using them. Regular check-ins allow us to identify what is working and what can be done differently to ensure success.
